I have to throw this up and run, as I’m running late for an event.

I often say that tabletop role-playing games are my second favorite group activity, the first being sex. Given how hard it can be to get into a decent game of Dungeons & Dragons when you’re an adult, I can absolutely understand Bernard’s priorities here.

Huzzah! I present the first picture of the core Deviant Life trio in color, courtesy of Deviant Life artist D. White.
While the ongoing comic strips will still be black and white, I felt like we needed to go the extra mile for our Patreon sponsors and make the monthly pin-ups, which $3+ patrons will receive digitally and $10+ patrons will receive physical prints of, in color.
Of course, every dealer in vice knows the principle of The First One Is Free so this one is for everyone digitally. $10+ patrons who pledge by the end of July will get a physical copy of this one as a bonus along with the August patron only pin up.
Remember, if we meet our first Patreon goal of $100 per month, we will start putting out Deviant Life strips every week instead of every other week.

Meet Dace, a more casual partner of Audrey’s, and Sam, Bernard’s big brother.
As someone who respects monogamy when it’s a reasoned choice and not something people are railroaded into by assumptions and societal pressure, I generally don’t like to take jabs at monogamy. However, I’m kind of feeling fed up at the moment with how common it is for polyamorous people to be coerced into monogamy by possessive partners.
In happier news, I’ve had a rather lovely week. I went with one of my partners to see The Beatle’s Yellow Submarine on the big screen, was on the Curious Fox: Communication panel, and had a wonderful time at WitchFest. All of which was delightful.

It’s my birthday and I’ve got drinking to do, so I’m going to keep this short, but keep an eye out tomorrow for me to finally post about my experience at Frolicon 2018.

I’m back from Frolicon. Unfortunately, I haven’t really had enough time to catch up on sleep, so my account of the weekend is going to have to wait a day or two.

When I wrote this comic, the intention was for it to be posted right before I hopped a bus south to go to Euphoria, an unofficial regional burn, which was supposed to take place in Georgia this coming weekend (April 26-29). However, shit went wrong, and Euphoria isn’t happening. This is a huge let down for a lot of people, but shit happens when you need a large, secluded location for such events and rural areas tend to be the domain of xenophobes. All we deviants can do sometimes is roll with the punches and keep on searching for places to call home.
On the bright side, not being able to go to Euphoria ended up pushing me towards going to Frolicon next month (May 17-20). I had a pretty great time last year, but because the added effort and expense of attending two events in Georgia while living in New York seemed overwhelming, I chose to only attend Euphoria. Obviously, with no Euphoria to attend, now I can attend Frolicon and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I won’t be teaching any panels this year, so it’s going to be purely a vacation, hopefully with a great deal of debauchery with friends both old and new.

I find it a cool coincidence that the strip where Audrey is explicitly acknowledged to be a sex worker just happened to fall on the same day as the third event by Stigma Unbound (a performance series showcasing the work of sex workers and allies), Stigma Unbound 3: Transgression + Consent. I mentioned attending their previous event in my last non-comic entry, Damning the Tree While Eating Its Fruit. I’ll of course be there tonight. It’s an important issue to me and I always enjoy the films and performances.
I also wanted to show off the great new “Polyamorous” button that arrived for me in the mail yesterday, the first delivery in a button shopping spree on Etsy. This button came from the ourbackpockets store. Check ’em out

Hey look, I added rudimentary navigation links to the Deviant Life posts to make things a little easier on people who want to see the other strips.
